Ever find yourself wishing for girl time with your friends?
If you are like me you have more than one best friend. We get so caught up in our daily routines that we neglect making time for our friends. Not on purpose, but because we lead busy lives.
Some of my most memorable times have been with my friends. Getting together with them always means having a good time and making new memories with each other. It’s a time where you can be yourself, talk about your dreams, goals, daily life, kids, family and so much more.
My friends have made it to my inner circle and are a part of my tribe. Your tribe consists of the friends that have your back no matter what. When your life falls apart they are there. When your life is going great they continue to lift you up.
It’s important for you to look at making time to hang out. Never rule out the power of a quick hello on the phone, but meeting in person helps a lot too.
How do you make the effort to get together then?
There are ways to make it a priority and a reality on your calendar. Talk with your friend to figure out a day or night that works out best. Put it on the calendar and set it up the same way that you would an appointment. When you set it up this way you prioritize it and then your time together is even more valuable.
Think of ways that will make your time more memorable. If you are more adventurous then plan something that will get your adrenaline going. Maybe its an outdoor adventure that you can do locally or plan a day trip for.
I know for myself I still want to try ziplining although I am afraid of heights. It doesn’t stop me from taking a helicopter ride or getting on a rollercoaster. Be daring if that is more the style for the two of you.
Almost every city has an escape room and if you don’t have a large group you can always join another group. One to try in the Raleigh/Durham area is: https://www.bullcityescape.com/ If you are in another state simply look up escape rooms.
If you are in the mood for a chic flick go for it. Personally I love watching the ones that are funny. I tend to save the romantic ones for when I am at home. That includes sad ones too. Although, recently I did go watch The Shack and highly recommend it.
Your best girl time can consist of getting together over a cup of coffee. Coffee cafes are my favorite go to spots for catching up. Picking a special flavor for my latte too.

What you do together isn’t the main thing it is the time. The time that you take to make each other feel good about your friendship. Time well spent is always remembered.
What kind of things do you like to do?
Feed your friendship that way you will always have it. If you are long distance set up a plan to get together. If it is too expensive then meet halfway.
I remember the year where I got tired of always saying “one of these days.” It got me thinking that there would never be a perfect time. That is when I made the decision to have a mini reunion with my friends in Texas.
Would you believe it had been at least twenty years since we had seen one another? That is what happens when you keep saying “one of these days.” After I went it felt great to have had that time together too.
So you see it can be done. Go ahead and start brewing up a time to get together. Figure it all out and go do it.
Ditch the excuses, the to do list, the unfinished tasks or chores and the guilt of going out. You owe it to yourself and your awesome friend to have fun.
Isn’t it time for you to make some new memories?
