That is what I did with Essense Hill, a Personal Shopper with Belk in Raleigh, NC. For the record, this is not a sponsored post. I wanted to share my experience and how you all might benefit too.
First, I contacted her on the recommendation of a friend Melissa with the blog https://adventuresfrugalmom.com/. My personal style session was complimentary. Next, Essense asked me for my clothing sizes in advance. She was also able to check out my taste in clothing through my social media.
That was a huge help in determining what she thought I’d like to try on. A personal shopper is for anyone though. One of the perks is having a dressing room all to yourself and your clothing selections ready to try on.
Keep an open mind
Remember that a personal shopper has your taste in mind. However, leave some wiggle room to be adventurous.
Above all, clothing should make you feel confident and beautiful. It’s okay to rely on your go-to colors, but feel free to try on something different.
I like classic black and white, but also like wearing red, blue, pink and florals. I did end up sticking with my traditional color scheme.
The good news is that I can wear colorful accessories or shoes with my selections. That will make my outfits stand out even more. A statement necklace or heels in a vibrant color will enhance my look.
My number one favorite piece was the white jumpsuit. It is not something that I would have thought about buying. It fit great and she gave me ideas on different ways of wearing this outfit.

At first glance, I thought I might not wear it. Then, after careful scrutiny at my reflection, I thought why not? Being sexy is a good thing. I chose to embrace my womanhood.
My three pieces were an Ellen Tracy white jumpsuit, a Devlin black blouse and a pair of CeCe black leggings that were super comfortable. My budget was $200 or less and I walked out at $161.52.
It was an investment with the jumpsuit and the leggings were regular price. However, the blouse was on clearance and was only $16.99. The original price was $108.00.
The jumpsuit was 25% off. Finally, I saved $115.89 with my purchase.
Have a price point in mind before going to your style session. You will know ahead of time what to expect. It makes it easier on your personal shopper too.
