Scheduling Me Time Essential For Your Well Being

Finding me time on your schedule doesn’t have to be hard. Over the years I have learned that it is absolutely okay to do you. Long ago I would have thought that going to get a massage was a selfish thing to get, but now I’m in a place where I understand it’s benefits more clearly.

It’s therapeutic to say the least. Go ahead and schedule that time. Now in order to get the time that you deserve there are things to consider.

Do you have any children?

If so then finding someone who can take care of them is the first thing that you should do. Unless your spouse is willing to take care of the children for you. Either way, if your children are little; secure a sitter. Once you get this task done you can go onto the next step.

Decide what it is that you would like to do. Are you looking at getting pampered? Look at the type of me time that works best for you. How about that movie that you have been longing to watch?

Believe it or not it’s okay to have a wish list of must see chic flicks or whatever genre interests you. You don’t have to explain why you would like to watch it.

You simply look for the movie that interests you. Remember this is your day. You choose what, where and when. Be sure to ditch the guilt and leave it at the front door. Getting your dose of me time helps to rejuvenate you from the daily stresses in life.

Maybe you have been working hard non-stop. Or you would like a little break to just breathe without having to worry about what isn’t done on your to-do list. Be adventurous.

Why not try something out of the norm for a change?

Look for things in your area that would be fun to try for the first time. When I first started looking for a hobby I chose Archery. It was the best thing I could have ever done because I fell in love with it.

Practicing archery with my instructor Christine Harrelson.

It was fun and it was something that I could call my own. It didn’t make me selfish or a bad wife or mother. In fact it did the opposite.

Archery ended up making me a better woman overall. Hobbies help you create me time. You participate because you want to not because you have to.

What can you do that will help you find some me time?

Are you more of a creative person? Maybe taking a local painting class or photography class is more your style. Possibly you are more sports oriented and would like to try your hand at a new sport.

Here is my idea of some me time on the weekend. Going to get a latte at my favorite coffee cafe to write. Then going to get my nails done or go and get a massage at Massage Envy.

On a different weekend I might want to get up early and head straight to the archery range and practice shooting my bow. Then afterwards go and do something girly. Even if it is only window shopping.

It’s all about balance. Maybe me time for you is simply being alone at home taking a nice bubble bath and reading your favorite book. Your personal time might take you on a hike or a quiet walk throughout your neighborhood.

Remember it’s all about you. This is a time to reflect on what a great person that you are. Taking the time to pamper yourself.

This is when you don’t have to be stressed about taking care of everyone else and everything else. Time stands still. There is no deadline you simply choose to enjoy the moment without the guilt.

Now to me that is priceless.
