Any dream or goal worth pursuing begins with what you believe you can do. I want to share 3 ways to shatter your limiting beliefs. You will need a pen and a notebook. I find it the most helpful when I write things down.
First, think of what your limiting beliefs might be. For example, you might say Technology is too hard, and it intimidates me. Becoming a morning person is too hard for me. I will never be a fit person. I do not have the time to learn something new. Next, grab a pen and a notebook and write down your limiting beliefs.
Secondly, now think of the opposite of each of those statements and write them in your notebook. Instead, say Technology is something that I am willing to learn. It is easier than I thought. Becoming a morning person is no different than being a night owl. I can begin the process of being fit. Finding nuggets of time in my schedule is something that I can do.
Your Mindset Matters
I used to think that I would never work out consistently at the gym. It was easier to believe that I was a night owl. I found that I became a morning person, and I made working out a priority. Often, we set up our limitations based on our excuses. Excuses then reinforce that limiting belief. It becomes a way of avoiding the changes.
Thirdly, look for evidence of others doing these things. They can be people that you know personally or that you admire online. When you see others doing it, too, you start to gain insight and inspiration. It is a great starting point to begin your path toward belief.
Everyone starts somewhere. It is about finding ways to change the way that you think. It helps to get you in the right headspace and changes your mindset. Your mind is powerful. By feeding it the correct beliefs, you gain inner strength, and you nurture that part of your brain. Believing that you can do something helps you make that shift.
Maybe you have wanted to change your career or take on a new hobby. You might think you are too old to try something new. Try thinking about how trying a new thing can enhance your life. What would it look like for you to take that step? Imagining how you would feel or what you would be doing helps you shatter your limiting beliefs.
Take It One Step At A Time
Think of replacing each of your limiting beliefs with a new belief that propels you forward. By doing this one step at a time, you will begin to experience the shift. I continue to read and listen to people that did this and got to where they wanted to be in life. It was not something that happened overnight. However, with practice and at times when guided by a life coach, they made their pivot.
Find what works for you. Each day continues to present itself, and you get the opportunity to make your dreams a reality. Do one thing today to help you reach your goals and accomplish them. When you let go of your limiting beliefs, you open yourself up to your true potential.
Don’t you think that is worth it? I do, and I will continually believe that you can do it too.
