Finding Your Spark in Hope Despite Your Brokenness

Lucy Brummett finding hope

There is still hope in your brokenness. As a woman who has experienced brokenness, I can tell you that all is not lost. We all have a story at one time or another.

Sometimes, that story stems from betrayal or some trauma. Whatever your reason, remember that you are worthy of great things.

Think back to your experiences. When did someone make you feel like you were less than? Whatever the case, you get the opportunity to rise above your circumstances.

It is possible when you take the steps to get you there. The first thing that you must do is process it. The more you run away from your problems, the more miserable you will be.

To heal means confronting the things that shattered you. It isn’t easy, but when you do, it offers a sense of relief.

Protect your heart

Your heart is the most sacred thing that you own. You don’t simply let anyone in it, do you? Usually, you have a say in who gets in it and who does not.

During this time, you shed the layers that have confined you. Thinking you are worthy of happiness is enough to permit yourself to shed those layers.

Each of you has a journey with a unique timeline for getting you back up. No one can dictate that but you. Often, you will have friends or relatives who have gone through a similar circumstance. It’s okay to seek guidance from them.

Nothing is better than talking with someone who has walked in your shoes. They can offer you comfort and support. You will go through your stages of grief in the beginning, middle, and ongoing end.

Some days, you will feel incredibly alone, and on others, you will feel more empowered. Trust the process.

Embrace a soul-cleansing

During your tears, there will be a breakthrough. I like to say that you have a soul cleansing when you cry. It washes away the pain of your hurt so that something positive can take its place. Again, there is hope in the waiting.

Pain does not discriminate. It can happen in any season of your life. If you cannot bear to do this alone, I encourage you to seek help. If you are a woman of faith, pray first every single day. Seek out support at your church.

There are also therapists more than willing to help you make strides. There is no shame in getting help from a professional. You, my dear, are worthy of becoming whole once again.

Along your journey, you may get the opportunity to forgive, which, my friend, is also a type of soul cleansing. You might not forget what you’ve been through, but it seasons you for the future. It helps untangle your heartstrings to the person that hurt you.

The unfortunate moments we experience don’t have to bind us to them forever. You get to move forward, and you will find your way out of the darkness.

Do yourself a favor and unshackle your way out of those chains. One day you will find a reason to smile again. Then you will start to put yourself back together one day at a time.

Please give yourself grace in this truth. Your brokenness is temporary. Your healing comes when you begin to experience that inner light again.

There is hope in your brokenness. For now, for today, you can coexist with your feelings.

Take it one step at a time. Tomorrow is an opportunity to look at yourself with love. You are worthy of the beautiful things.

Are you willing to take a chance on embracing that truth today? I know I am, and that gives me hope.
