Being strong in patience beneficial in marriage

Recently, I was watching an elderly man wait outside a coffee café line. He stood there for the longest time. At first, I thought that maybe he was at the wrong end of the line. However, he kept standing there so patiently, not in a rush at all.

I watched him observe others with the occasional smile as they walked away with their favorite drinks. One person after another passed by him. Until at last, a beautiful elderly woman in a green boho-style green cotton top and matching skirt walked on by him.

I saw the twinkle and happiness in his eyes as she walked forward with confidence in her spirit.

He had been waiting so patiently all that time. I found it intriguing for sure. I could see how being strong in patience is beneficial in marriage.

This woman had the same kind of spark in her eyes that he did. It gave me hope to get that again one day. Anyone who can look at someone like that is worth keeping. I was happier for them because of what I had witnessed.

She knew what she had and what had been built in that confidence. That, my friend, was true love at its best. I found that to be extraordinarily beautiful.

She smiled like a person who is happy and full of joy. She had the same kind of sparkle in her eyes that he did. It gave me hope to get that again one day. However, I was happier for them because of what I had witnessed.

I suppose that at this stage in life, she embraced peace in her life, and let’s not forget her loving husband.

Patience Is A Building Block

What I saw before me was a couple that had endured the test of time. I’ll never know their story or how they got to the season they found themselves in. I wish I could have asked them how they had achieved this kind of joy, love, and respect for one another.

Sometimes you don’t know what is possible for yourself until you see it in others. You may not even be looking for it. The great news is that this kind of reminder happens when you least expect it.

So, wherever you find yourself at this moment, know that it can happen for you too. Never give up on something that you deserve. Life is meant to be lived to the fullest.

Do whatever you can to be open to what can come your way. It made my heart happy to see an older couple express their feelings so openly and without saying a word.

What they didn’t know was that they were not even aware of it.

They were oblivious because they exuded their love for one another so deeply. My goal is to be like they were, growing older with the things that matter most. The hand holding, the I’m still in love with you gazes that only time and real, genuine love can build.

In the meantime, I am content with what I used to have once upon a time. I will wait patiently to capture something as they had because it sure seems worth it to me.
