Choosing Words of the Year Beneficial

It’s that time of the year when so many are contemplating their word of the year. In the past, I’ve been known to choose a word too. Choosing words of the year can be beneficial. Settling on a word can be daunting to some and come so easy for others. However, this year I wanted to try something a little bit different.

What if, this year, I embraced a variety of words? For me choosing one word would make me feel confined to a corner. Instead, I would rather go with words that continue to challenge me and move me forward.

For example, if my word were Trust, I would want to grow in trusting others instead of being skeptical. Say I reach that level of understanding, and my Trust becomes better. Then I would say I achieved what I set out to achieve. That would be great.

Although my goal would be met, I would move on to the next word. So, in 2023 it is not so much about picking one word but allowing myself to embrace the words meant for me.

Challenge Yourself

I want to think of it as a video game. Each time I conquer a level, I get rewarded. Imagine the progress one could make by stepping into words that shape them and make them into something better. Choosing words of the year takes some consideration.

Picking a word can align with your New Year resolutions but allowing yourself to have multiple words may benefit you. As I’ve grown older, I can appreciate how experiences have molded me each year. Maybe the same is true for you.

Think of where you are at this moment. Where would you like to be next week, month, or year? Ask yourself if one word works for you or would multiple ones work better.

Words of the Year Could Move you forward

There isn’t a right or wrong answer because each person is unique. It is about deciding what is in alignment with your current goals. As I step into 2023, I plan on evolving with every word I choose. One month it might be Trust, the next, I might encounter Grace, and another may be Purpose.

Either way, I want it to be an amazing experience. The journey is all part of the process. That, my friends, is worth conquering to me.
