How to Navigate Through Love in Relationships

Love can be complex. I often think about how it has evolved in my life. Figuring out how to navigate through love in relationships doesn’t have to be hard. I believe that we all want timeless love. The kind of love that surpasses any rational understanding. I have found that when you rely on expectations, you sometimes could end up disappointed.

I am a huge fan of the Hallmark Channel and enjoy getting transported to a fairytale-like existence. Think of the classic movies where people fall in love. Have you had the pleasure of experiencing such a thing? If so, what has been your favorite part so far?

When I walk in a local park, I tend to notice older couples who walk together and often hold hands. I believe that they have a story to tell. Have they been married for many years, or did they marry at a later stage in life? For all, I know maybe they are not married at all.

I hop on social media and get reeled into the couples with photos online. What’s their story? I wonder how many of them are real love stories. I hope that many are that and do indeed exist. Men and women are worthy of such love—the type that allows one human to profess their feelings to another human.

The Realities of Love

There is no perfect love, but two imperfect people can find happiness together. All relationships deserve to be nurtured. I have seen social proof of close friends being in love, losing love, and finding love again. I think that is a beautiful thing.

Losing love might be due to a relationship breaking up, divorcing, etc. These are the harsh realities that sometimes make it complex. However, when you encounter true love, you find ways to make it thrive.

We all get this one life to live to the fullest. Maybe you are the kind of person that doesn’t mind being alone. Solitude might be your thing, and that is okay. Yet, there are others that long to be with someone that appreciates them. Finding someone that brings out the best in you is a gift.

Make a vision board with all that you desire in a relationship. Allow yourself to dream and create the relationship that you deserve. Do not settle for anything less.

True love doesn’t mean that you will not experience hardships. All couples have trials and tribulations. However, it is up to both people to make things work. Take responsibility for the part you play in the relationship. Don’t take each other for granted either.

Communication is key

This is where communication plays a vital role. Have conversations that allow you to be who you want to be. Actively listen to your partner and be supportive. This way, you both contribute to the relationship and get to watch it grow. Be prepared to disagree, yet allow yourselves to have a better understanding afterward.

Everyone needs their personal space and time for themselves. Finding ways to engage in this makes you both better people. No one wants to be smothered or be known as needy. If this is you, then you might want to work on this sooner than later. Relationships are strengthened when both partners understand each other’s needs.

Maybe you like your partner to be romantic or maybe not. Talk about what you do and don’t like. Relationships can grow stagnant when one person stops trying or caring. When you allow this to happen, it will eventually take its toll on the relationship. No one deserves that kind of unhappiness.

Love in relationships is Worth It

Love in relationships is meant to be experienced most beautifully. A way that lets your heart flutter with excitement. Don’t you think so?

Think about what you want most out of your relationship, whether you are married or not. Now, what can you do to take it to the next level? It is not a one-and-done action.

I encourage you to stay in alignment with your values. When you do, you most likely will get that one-of-a-kind type of love. Even if you have been broken at one time or another, it does not mean you are not worthy of being loved.

Do your best to work on your relationship by doing so together. If you happen to find yourself alone, remember that it might be temporary. Keep the faith. When you are open to receiving love, it will happen for you too.
