It is one thing to voice out your ideas and another to keep your word. Making changes means being committed. If you say you are going to do a project, for instance, you go ahead and start it.
You must hold yourself accountable. Do it for yourself and if you have children be a role model for them. Have you ever said you would do something and then not do it?
Making changes in your life is a must. Going after the things that you want will mean being committed.
Pursuing your dream and goals requires that you do what you say. Otherwise those words and well meant intentions float away into oblivion. One minute they’re here and gone the next.
Have a plan
Think about the next thing that you want to start. Maybe you have already taken the first step. Instead of winging it get intentional.
Decide what your next steps will be. If the steps seem daunting be prepared to embrace your fear. Sometimes that fear is the best thing that can happen to you.
Remember how you felt when you were learning how to drive? A little bit nervous, but excited too. Maybe you have been working on something and it isn’t working.
That is when you know you must change things. Having a plan of action helps you outline what could work. It gives you the preparation to put your ideas into place.
Give yourself grace
Accept the fact that you will make mistakes. The things that you want to do are not easy at times. Quitting is the easy part, but allowing yourself grace prevents you from doing that.
That is when you feel like throwing in the towel. However, think about what that means. Will you feel good by doing that? Probably not.
Instead, give yourself a break. Embrace all of the things that will make you stay committed. It is so important to keep on going.
Maybe it is your diet, fitness routine, your career, etc. Each of them requires you to be true to yourself. At the end of the day, you answer to you alone.
If something isn’t working, then you do what it takes to make that change. You do it so you can accomplish your goals. That is the best feeling in the world.
Now it’s your turn to make the change that your gut desires. So get up, put your plan in your pocket and go for it.
