Deciding To Get Fit When You Are Busy

How do you squeeze in fitness when you have a busy life?

You know the drill you jump on the hamster wheel day in and day out. When could you possibly find room for fitness? If you are like some people by the end of the day all that you want to do is relax.

You have to decide if you will make time to get fit. Look for a time that you can work out whether it is in the morning or in the evening.

Determine if you are an early riser or if you would rather work out in the evenings. Personally I have always been a gal that prefers evening workouts. However, I started incorporating an early routine.

I have to admit it was tough to get up earlier than usual. I did it because I have always read it is important to have a morning routine. If that is the way successful people do it then I’m in.

Keep in mind to each their own. It’s whatever works out for you. Having a morning routine whether it is fitness, reading, meditating or whatever you choose to do regularly does increase your success level.

It adds to becoming disciplined daily. I know it has worked for me when I can wake up on my own without the alarm going off first. You are resetting your internal clock by the good habits that you implement.

Fitness doesn’t have to be complicated. It’s really a matter of choosing to incorporate it into your life. There are so many choices out there when you are ready to get fit.

Are you a person that likes to work out solo or do you need the social piece of a gym?

In my experience I have worked out at home and at the gym. I’ve done Beachbody workout programs with my Beachbody Coach Lesley Berde Newbern and enjoyed the nutrition with the Shakeology shakes too.  A wonderful way to get additional support with my fitness goals.

Both are super convenient and with Beachbody you have the extra option of doing their Beachbody On Demand workouts on the go.

If you are thinking of joining a gym then I highly recommend a trainer. Being new to fitness machines can be complicated if you are not used to them. Also, a trainer is able to set up a workout program based on your goals.

When I first joined the gym it was more out of necessity. I had started Archery and I needed to get stronger in order to pull back on my compound bow. Archery requires you to have upper body strength.

What used to be difficult has ended up making me stronger all because I got intentional with fitness. There is a myth that weightlifting with women will make you look like a man. It doesn’t and I am living proof.

Lifting weights helps tone you up and gives you overall muscle definition. What are your goals with fitness? Are you looking to lose weight or trying to tone up?

In the group photo with this post is my trainer Chris Riley (with Lifestyle Fitness) and my beautiful gym tribe Amy Harris, Holly Goodwin and Tiffany McCampbell. These women lift heavy and I truly admire them. I say heavy because it’s more than what I do, but they have great figures.

What I love about working out at my gym is that we support each other by posts on social media and in person. Jennifer is an awesome Zumba and Mixxed Fit instructor.

She always gets my heart going. Maggie, Robin and the rest of my gym tribe are super encouraging too when I work out with them. So you see for me I love the social piece.

Don’t let the fear of looking like a guy scare you from lifting weights. Try it to see if you like it first. With time you will grow to love it or hate it.

There is no wrong answer with fitness when it comes to personal preference. Do what feels good for you, but remember no pain no gain also. I know I have had to get out of my comfort zone with fitness.

On the bright side I can say it has made a great difference with my body and my goal with my glutes is right on track. It has been a full year since I joined Lifestyle Fitness and I couldn’t be happier.

You can work out anywhere. In your home, in your neighborhood, at the gym and anywhere else that you decide on.

Is working out easy and will you get results immediately?

The answer is that you will see progress if you are consistent. It will take time though. Patience is so important.

You will want to quit a lot. These feelings are normal because you are doing something that you are not used to. You can choose to wallow in self-pity or take the higher road and get up and keep on trying.

You have to remember that if you are on a weight loss journey it will take time. Your body didn’t get there overnight and it won’t bounce back like that either.

It is all about nutrition first and incorporating a fitness routine that works out for you. Believe that you can do it and you will.

Weight loss only works if you follow the plan right for you. You can work out constantly, eat the wrong foods and never see change. It’s about getting healthier and it’s a lifestyle change for the better.

Eat right and you will see a positive change that is in your favor. Fitness only works if you show up and ditch the excuses. This is the secret sauce my friends.
